City offering business grants of up to $20k
The City of Claremont is offering businesses with less than 100 employees grants up to $20,000 to create or retain a job for a low- or moderate-income person, cover rent and utility assistance, obtain inventory or supplies, payroll, and/or marketing. The deadline to apply is Thursday, February 15, at surveymonkey.com/r/sbglottery.
The money comes from American Rescue Plan Act funds to assist Claremont small business impacted by the pandemic. The standard grant amount is $15,000, but an additional $5,000 will be offered for businesses that participate in the Claremont Colleges IC2 Internship Program.
The city will utilize a lottery system to select at least 20 businesses to receive grants. For eligibility information, visit ci.claremont.ca.us/doing-business/business-assistance-programs.
