University of Pennsylvania chemistry professor Joseph Francisco will lead Pomona College chemistry department’s 60th Robbins Lecture Series, themed “Science in the Sky: The Impactful Chemical Processes Above Us.” Four free and open to the public talks will take place at Seaver North Auditorium, 645 N. College Ave., Claremont, beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, February 26 with “Water in the Atmosphere: The Molecule that Changes Everything.” A Fresh Look at the Chemistry Behind Acid Rain,” will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27; “From Inconsequential to Reaction Significance: A Lesson from the Chemistry of Earth and Mars,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 28; before “Catalytic and Autocatalytic Chemical Processes in the Atmosphere” wraps the series at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, February 29.
