Artists behind the three shows currently up at Sasse Museum of Art, 300 S. Thomas St., Pomona, as well as curator Ahmad Shariff, will be on hand Sunday, March 17, for a free and open to the public 2 to 4 p.m. opening reception.

“Shadow Notes” by John Woodcock is a collection of monoprints that explore relationships between surface, texture, and the reinvention of landscape, according to a news release. “Within the process of monotype printmaking each print leaves behind a ghost image that informs the next. The pieces in ‘Shadow Notes’ are selections of that process,” read the release.

Brittany Kiertzner’s “I Am Alive, a Breath, a Trail” is “an acknowledgment to generations of Indigenous women that delves into the profound exploration of the artist’s quest to forge connections within the realms of loss and insecurity,” read the release.

“The Way In,” photography by Jackie Leishman, sees the artist pull from various mediums to “explore that in-between space, a space that is felt.”

The shows are up through Saturday, April 27.
