Human traffickers often frequent transportation hubs to not only recruit victims, but to also use public transit systems to move victims between locations, according to a news release from Metrolink.

Metrolink Chief Executive Officer Darren Kettle recently signed the United States Department of Transportation’s Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking Pledge, reinforcing Metrolink’s commitment to combatting human trafficking along its Southern California routes.

Metrolink is poised to counter human trafficking efforts by providing appropriate staff training to all frontline employees, tap the public’s help later this month with the roll out of a comprehensive awareness campaign, and better its tracking and data sharing, read the news release.
