Tuesday, April 9
Claremont Police Department officers responded to a 9:42 p.m. call for service regarding a woman allegedly trespassing at Lombardo Law Firm, 408 W. Foothill Blvd. When police arrived, they say they found the 46-year-old unhoused woman hiding inside a closet on the property. She was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing and taken to CPD for booking, before being released with a citation to appear in Pomona Superior Court.
Police on patrol noticed 44-year-old Nicolas Rivera of Perris walking near the intersection of Indian Hill Boulevard and San Jose Avenue before 11:43 p.m. and questioned him. A records check turned up seven outstanding misdemeanor warrants issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. A search of Rivera allegedly turned up methamphetamine and a pipe. He was subsequently arrested and taken to CPD for booking before being released with citations to appear in court for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and unlawful paraphernalia, and the warrants.
Thursday, April 11
Police received a 11:02 p.m. call for service, again at Lombardo Law Firm, 408 W. Foothill Blvd., regarding the same 46-year-old unhoused woman who was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing on April 9. Arriving officers arrested her again on the same charge, took her to CPD for booking, and later released her with a citation to appear in court.
Friday, April 12
Officers on patrol at 1:30 a.m. near Indian Hill Boulevard and Oak Park Drive say they saw Mark Schmelter, 39, of Claremont, commit a moving violation and pulled him over. They allege Schmelter displayed symptoms of intoxication and conducted field sobriety tests. He was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor driving under the influence, taken to CPD, booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Claremont and Upland police arrested four suspects who allegedly furnished alcohol to minors during an operation conducted in Claremont and Upland, according to a CPD news release. California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control agents and local law enforcement conducted the “shoulder tap” operation which targets adults who purchase alcohol for persons under the age of 21.
Police were called to the scene of a 10:12 p.m. traffic collision near the intersection of Towne Avenue and Woodbend Drive. During the investigation, police allege that San Dimas resident Shannon Anderson-Hendricks, 44, showed signs of intoxication, and they conducted field sobriety tests. The woman was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and taken to CPD where she was booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Saturday, April 13
Police responded to a 10:12 p.m. service call at Hanoi Kitchen, 400 Auto Center Dr., regarding a man who was refusing to leave the restaurant. Arriving officers questioned 29-year-old Los Angeles resident Javon Adams, who told them he was on parole. A records check revealed he had a felony no bail warrant out of LA. He was arrested for the warrant and a felony parole violation, taken to CPD, booked, then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Monday, April 15
Police were dispatched to the scene of a traffic collision at 2:33 a.m. near the intersection of Indian Hill Boulevard and Harrison Avenue. Officers said 22-year-old Eric Moreno of San Bernardino was exhibiting symptoms of intoxication, so they conducted field sobriety tests. A search allegedly turned up a cannabis vape pen, and Moreno was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and taken to CPD where he was booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation.
At 3:21 a.m. CPD got another call about the same 46-year-old unhoused woman sleeping near the entrance to Lombardo Law Firm, 408 W. Foothill Blvd., they had arrested April 9 and 11. She was again arrested, booked at CPD, and released her with her third citation for misdemeanor trespassing of the week.
Police received an 8 a.m. call about a man who could not keep his footing along the 200 block of west First Street. Arriving officers questioned Pomona resident Cesar Saldivar, 45, whom they said was slurring his words and could not stand without assistance, and was emitting a strong odor of alcohol. Police arrested Saldivar for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and took him to CPD jail, where he was held for detox before being released with a citation.
