Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center earned an A hospital safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog, for the second consecutive year. Leapfrog assigns grades, A through F, to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them, according to PVHMC a news release.

Leapfrog’s hospital safety grade is the only hospital-ratings program focused on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center was also recognized during Black Maternal Health Week for its success in supporting Black maternal health by United States News and World Report. The national analysis of maternity care hospitals identified 26 achieving excellent outcomes for cesarean section and unexpected newborn complications among Black patients.
