‘Inland Abundant Housing’ to launch May 21
“Inland Abundant Housing” will be launched as the newest chapter of Abundant Housing Los Angeles in a free and open to the public celebratory reception and presentation at 5:45 p.m. May 21, at Napier Center, 660 Avery Rd., Claremont, on the campus of Pilgrim Place.
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Housing Claremont, the speaker will be the new executive of AHLA, Azeen Khanmalek.
For free registration or a Zoom link, go to housingclaremont.org.
“The chapter is organizing to contribute new energy to the mass movement to preserve and build housing — all types and all income levels — but focused on developing low-income housing and services on faith group owned land throughout the Pomona Valley from the 405 to the 15, the foothills to the Orange County line,” wrote president of the new chapter the Rev. Gene Boutilier in a news release. “This launch creates another activist collaboration campaigning for better housing policy and funding on the November ballot, supporting ‘Yes, in My Backyard’ pro-housing developments, pressuring local government to fulfill their affordable housing obligations, and joining the struggle for rent stabilization and tenant rights.”
