Memorial Day in Claremont

The City of Claremont, American Legion Keith Powell Post 78, and Friends of Oak Park Cemetery celebrated Memorial Day Monday morning at Oak Park Cemetery.

The annual event included a performance by the Claremont High School Concert Band, remarks by Mayor Sal Medina, Friends of Oak Park Cemetery board member Jane Reed, and American Legion Keith Powell Post 78 Commander David Mushinskie, who later led a moment of silence, followed by a performance of “Amazing Grace” by bagpiper Bob Conacher.

Floral tributes, arranged by Don Antonio Lugo High School students, were presented by Active Claremont, Claremont Masonic Lodge, the Claremont Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Friends of Oak Park Cemetery, Kiwanis Club of Claremont, Rotary Club of Claremont, and The Woman’s Club of Claremont.
