After 60 years of service, First Baptist Church of Claremont’s nursery school will close on Friday, May 31.

The school was founded in 1964 by Edith Fagg. Janet Hodges served as director after Fagg’s 1974 retirement. Suzanne Duron then took the position following Hodges retirement in the late 2010s.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank not only every child that attended our wonderful Pre-School, but also the individuals that made that possible,” spokesperson Linda Weber wrote in a statement. “We would like to … thank each of these Directors and the teachers for the many years of dedication to the First Baptist Church Pre-School.”
