Obituary: Ronald W. Pusey
May 21, 1933 – May 15, 2024
Ronald W. Pusey died peacefully, from complications related to pneumonia, surrounded by family on May 15. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Carole J. Pusey; parents, Ralph and Genevieve Pusey; grandson, Justin Becerra; son-in-law, David Kuzminski. His youngest daughter, Sandy Kuzminski, also died shortly after his passing.
Ron and his wife Carole were both born in Wyandotte Hospital near Ecorse, Michigan, him on May 21, 1933. Prior to meeting, they both moved to Southern California and attended Chaffey High School in Ontario. They subsequently married at St. George’s Catholic Church in Ontario and ultimately became parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Upland.
He served in the U.S. Army near the end of the Korean War and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He graduated from Claremont Men’s College (now Claremont McKenna College) and went on to practice accounting, eventually establishing his own tax and accounting business in Claremont. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Claremont. His favorite times were spent with family, cheering for the LA Rams Washington Commanders, staying in his RV at Huntington Beach, golfing, bowling, and frequenting Hawaii.
He is survived by his brothers Ralph and Robert Pusey (Shirley); sisters Nancy Rozelle (Ken) and Rose Ashton; children, Stephen Pusey (Betsy), Susan Newman (Gary); nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service was held.
