Claremont gears up for concerts, movies in the park
Concerts
Enjoy the city’s annual summer tradition of concerts at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd., starting at 7 p.m. each Monday from July 8 through August 26.
This month’s performers include Cold Duck ona July 8, The Silverados on July 15, The Smokin’ Cobras on July 22, and Suave on July 29. Acoustical Mystery Tour follows on August 5, Pop Vinyl on August 12, The Snipes on August 19, and The Answer on August 26.
Movies
Families and friends can view a different movie each Thursday at a new park in Claremont starting July 11 through August 1 before the series caps with national night out on Tuesday, August 6. Preshow activities begin at 7:30 and movies roll at dusk.
The series opens July 11 with “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” (2023) at Lewis Park, 881 Syracuse Dr.; followed by “The Wizard of Oz” (1939) at June Vail Park, at the corner of Grand Avenue and Bluefield Drive, on July 18; “Toy Story 4” (2019) on July 25 at Wheeler Park, 626 Vista Dr.; and “Trolls Band Together” (2023) at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd., on August 1. The sing-along version of “Frozen” (2013) will be played at Joāt Park, 1717 N. Indian Hill Blvd. for national night out on Tuesday, August 6.
