Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, 200 W. First St., will host a series of free and open to the public lectures, “Revolutions & Revelations: Avant-Garde Art of the 20th Century,” led by art historian Wendy Slatkin, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday from July 11 through August 1.

Slatkin will “explore the most exciting Western works of art of the 1900s and provide the historical contexts that defined these important works of art,” a news release read.

The July 11 lecture is “1900-1909: Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Gauguin, Cézanne, Picasso;” July 18, “1910-1919: Cubism, Expressionism, Constructivism, Dada, Kirchner, Malevich, Duchamp;” July 25, “1920-1929: Bauhaus, Surrealism, American Modernism, Miro, Magritte, O’Keefe;” and August 1, “1930-1939: Mexican Mural Movement, Exiles & Émigrés, Calder, Mondrian, Sheets.”
