Sidelined since hip surgery in 2016, 79-year-old artist Sherie Garner has returned as part of a group show through August at Bunny Gunner Art Gallery, 230 W. Bonita Ave., Claremont.

Garner works with a realism technique she calls “painting with pencils.” Her preferred medium is a suede board.

“My subject matter is scenics and wildlife,” she wrote in an email the Courier. “When I was healthy, I had 50 pieces in my collection.”
