Chino Basin Water Conservation District hosts its second annual free and open to the public dog days of summer event at the Waterwise Community Center, 4594 San Bernardino St., Montclair, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18. All dogs need to be well behaved and leashed.

Activities include an evening in the garden with music, dog-friendly giveaways, and treats. Attendees will learn the effects of dog waste on the local watershed and how to reduce a leading cause of stormwater pollution — pet droppings.
