National Night Out festivities abound

Claremont
Claremont’s free and open to the public National Night Out festivities will take place Tuesday, August 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Joāt Park (formerly Cahuilla Park), at the corner of Indian Hill Boulevard and Scripps Drive. The Claremont Police Department and community groups will host exhibits and games for children and a public safety meet and greet for special needs people and families between 6 and 6:30 p.m. CPD will be accepting donations of children’s toys, school supplies, and non-perishable snacks for the Children’s Advocacy Center during the event. A dusk sing-along version of “Frozen” (2013) will close the celebration. Visit ci.claremont.ca.us for more information.

Montclair
Montclair Police Department’s National Night Out festivities include a 2 to 8 p.m. blood drive at Montclair Senior Center at Alma Hofman Park, 5201 Benito St., public safety exhibits which open at 6 and a screening of “Top Gun: Maverick” begins at 8:15.

La Verne
La Verne Police Department’s annual free and open to the public National Night Out program runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Las Flores Park, 3175 Bolling Ave.

Pomona
Pomona Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Plaza, is the site of Pomona’s free and public 6 to 8 p.m. National Night Out celebration featuring family friendly games, music, vendors, vehicle displays and more. Learn more at instagram.com/pomonapd.

Upland
Meet local police, fire, and city officials during the City of Upland’s free and open to the public 3 to 6 p.m. National Night Out event at Gibson Senior Center, 250 N. Third Ave., with refreshments, karaoke, games and prizes. Call (909) 981-4501 or visit facebook.com for more info.
