Friday, January 24

  • Condit Elementary School, 1750 N. Mountain Ave., hosts an 8:30 a.m. open house for those interested in learning about its transitional kindergarten or kindergarten programs. For more information, visit cusd.claremont.edu.

 

 

  • Free flu and updated COVID-19 shots are available at Claremont Helen Renwick Library’s 1 to 3 p.m. vaccine clinic at 208 N. Harvard Ave. while supplies last. Register at visit.lacountylibrary.org/events. Walk-ins are also welcome. Health insurance is not required, but information will be requested. Minors must bring a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Forms are available at lacountylibrary.org/wp-content.

  • Drop off e-waste from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Sunday, January 26 at a free and open to the public collection event at Alma Hofman Park, 5201 Benito St., Montclair.

  • Claremont Craft Ales, 1420 N. Claremont Blvd., #204c, hosts “Kimi Day,” a 1 to 10 p.m. benefit event for longtime employee and beloved Claremont fixture Kimi Ritner, who is being treated for cancer and is facing daunting medical bills. Proceeds from beer, merchandise, and raffle ticket sales will go directly toward Kimi’s treatment. Raffle prizes include a one year subscription to the Courier, guitars, a ukulele, artwork, a skate deck, a Some Crust gift card, and lots of other Claremont-related goodies. Raffle tickets are $5 or five for $20. The event features live music from the Solid Ray Woods Revue at 1 p.m., Gold Raven at 3, the Roy Durnal Band at 5, and Mick Rhodes and the Hard Eight at 7.
