Claremont McKenna College President Hiram Chodosh announced last week that he will step down by the end of the 2025-2026 academic year, his 13th as president.
“Responsible leadership means knowing when to finish the story,” he wrote a message to the CMC community, viewable at cmc.edu/president. “As hard as it is to move on from the most rewarding phase in my professional life, the timing feels right.”
Chodosh’s tenure included the establishment of Soll Center for Student Opportunity, Civility, Access, Resources, and Expression Center, and Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences, and the Campaign for CMC: Responsible Leadership, which raised more than $1 billion.
Chodosh became the fifth president of CMC in 2013.
