Police blotter — April 11, 2025

Monday, March 31

At 2:52 p.m., Claremont Police Department officers pulled over Los Angeles resident Kevin Whitaker, 35, on the 400 block of E. Foothill Boulevard for equipment violations. A records check of Whitaker led to his arrest for a misdemeanor Pasadena warrant. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and later released with a citation.

Wednesday, April 2

Police stopped a car with an equipment violation near Foothill Boulevard and Towne Avenue at 1:30 a.m. and spoke with Alexander Lopez, 38, of Rancho Cucamonga. Police say he displayed symptoms of impairment. After field sobriety tests, Lopez was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, transported to CPD, held for detoxification, and released with a citation.

Thursday, April 3

At 9:50 a.m., CPD officers said they found a 57-year-old homeless man with what appeared to be fentanyl and a device to ingest it behind the former Greyhound bus station, 888 S. Indian Hill Blvd. The man, determined by police to be under the influence, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. He was transported to CPD, booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation.

Friday, April 4

Police conducting a 2:01 a.m. check of College Park, 100 S. College Ave., spotted a car there past curfew and parked illegally in a red zone. They spoke with 48-year-old Pomona resident Robert Flores and a search of him allegedly turned up paraphernalia. Flores was arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

Claremont police stopped Corona resident Lidia De Leon, 32, for moving violations at 11 p.m. near Indian Hill Boulevard and 12th Street. Officers said De Leon showed signs of impairment. After field sobriety tests, De Leon was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. She was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and later released with a citation.

Saturday, April 5

At 1:07 a.m., Claremont police pulled over Pomonan Serenity Dupree, 26, for speeding near Bonita and Towne avenues. A records check of Dupree revealed two misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrants, which led to her arrest. She was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

Police responded to Sprouts, 835 W. Foothill. Blvd, at 4:30 p.m. following a call that someone was stealing. Officers matched a description provided to them to a nearby 56-year-old homeless man, who was then positively identified by a store employee. A search of the man allegedly turned up store goods, a pipe and a small bag of cocaine, leading to his arrest for shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors. He was transported to CPD, booked, and later released to a hospital due to a medical issue.

Sunday, April 6

Police responded to the 400 block of Hollyoak Avenue regarding an evening call about a man walking in the road. Police ran a records check of the 28-year-old unhoused man and arrested him at 10:12 p.m. after it showed he had a misdemeanor Claremont warrant and a felony San Bernardino County warrant. He was transported to CPD, booked, and later taken to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga to held in front of an April 8 appearance at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court.
