Tuesday, April 15
Claremont Police Department officers responded to a 10:22 p.m. call about two men trespassing at the former Claremont School of Theology campus at 1325 N. College Ave. Arriving officers ran records checks, and one of the men, 35 and homeless, had a protective order in place against the 46-year-old man he was with, who was also homeless. Both were arrested for misdemeanor trespassing, and the 46-year-old was charged with misdemeanor violation of a court order. During the arrest, police say they found a methamphetamine pipe on the 35-year-old, and he was subsequently charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to CPD and booked. The 35-year-old was released with a citation. The 46-year-old was later transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles, then to Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA on April 23. He is due back at Pomona Superior Court on April 30.
Wednesday, April 16
Police responded to the 1700 block of Clemson Avenue at 12:10 p.m. following reports of a suspicious person. Arriving officers questioned a 31-year-old homeless man, and a records check revealed he was on probation for burglary. A searched allegedly turned up methamphetamine and a pipe, leading to his arrest for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was then transported to CPD where he was booked and released with a citation.
Claremont police responded to an 8:13 p.m. domestic violence report from a residence in the 400 block of Converse Avenue. After speaking to the occupants, they arrested a 32-year-old Claremont man for misdemeanor domestic violence. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released the following day.
Thursday, April 17
After serving a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Wiley Court at 6:08 p.m., Claremont police arrested a 61-year-old Claremont man for possession of obscene matter involving minors, a felony. He was transported to Claremont jail, booked, and released pending further investigation. Police said the search was in relation to a case that began in December 2024 after they received a tip that the man was allegedly in possession of the material.
Police responded to a family disturbance in the 600 block of Montgomery Circle at 8:51 p.m. Officers spoke with occupants at the residence and determined that a domestic violence incident had occurred with a child present. A 47-year-old Claremont man was subsequently arrested for felony domestic violence and misdemeanor child abuse, transported to CPD, booked, and held for court. He was later released after posting bond.
Saturday, April 19
Police responded to reports of a car hitting a tree in the area of Green Street and Indian Hill Boulevard at 1:54 a.m. and questioned a 43-year-old Ontario resident. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and transported to a local hospital due to a medical issue. After being discharged, he was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
Sunday, April 20
Police said they saw a man inhale something from his backpack at Auto Center Drive and Indian Hill Boulevard at 11:45 a.m. and stopped to question him. A search of the 36-year-old Rialto resident’s bag allegedly turned up a container of nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, and a records check showed a misdemeanor LA County warrant. He was arrested for the warrant and misdemeanor possession of nitrous oxide, transported to CPD, booked, and later released with a citation.
