Tuesday, June 3
Claremont Police Department officers were notified of a “road rage” incident at 8:07 a.m. and pulled over a car fitting the witnesses’ description at Foothill Boulevard and Mills Avenue. A records check of the driver, a 55-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman, showed a felony warrant from San Bernardino County. She was arrested, transported to CPD, booked, and later taken to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. She was released on bail later that evening.
Thursday, June 5
Police responded to Wine and Liquor Market, 750 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 2:36 p.m. after receiving a call about a trespass in progress. There they questioned a homeless man, 32, who had previously been advised to stay away from the store. A search allegedly turned up a methamphetamine pipe, and he was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing and possession of unlawful paraphernalia, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Friday, June 6
Calls regarding a man searching through a trash dumpster brought police to the 600 block of S. College Avenue at 6:06 a.m. There they arrested a 35-year-old Fontana man, charging him with misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
Police say a 37-year-old Montclair man who was questioned at the CPD checkpoint at Foothill and Claremont boulevards at 8:10 p.m. displayed symptoms of impairment and was not in possession of a drivers license. A records check showed two misdemeanor warrants, and after field sobriety tests he was arrested for the warrants, misdemeanor DUI, and driving without a license. He was transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
Saturday, June 7
Police stopped a car for vehicle code violations at Wharton Drive and Bucknell Avenue at 1:51 a.m. Officers spoke with the driver, a 53-year-old Claremont man, and after field sobriety tests arrested him for misdemeanor DUI. A records check revealed a misdemeanor Claremont warrant, and a search allegedly turned up methamphetamine and a pipe, adding the warrant and misdemeanor possession of controlled substance and unlawful paraphernalia to his charge list. He was transported to CPD, booked, detoxed, and held for court. He was arraigned June 9 at Pomona Superior Court and at press time remained in custody at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Sunday, June 8
Claremont police pulled over a 36-year-old Ontario woman at 10:22 p.m. for vehicle code violations near Towne Avenue and Arrow Highway. After field sobriety tests she was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. A records check also showed a misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrant, and that her license was suspended, adding two more items to her charge sheet. She was transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation.
Monday, June 9
Officers stopped a 46-year-old Los Angeles man at 12:31 a.m. at Towne and Harrison avenues for vehicle code violations. Following field sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation.
