California Department of Transportation will gather data for its statewide vehicle count over the next two years, including here in Claremont.

“Caltrans has hired a contractor to collect traffic volume counts … to supplement traffic data collected from local jurisdictions by Caltrans,” according to City Manager Adam Pirrie’s July 24 newsletter at claremontca.gov. “The Caltrans contractor has placed automated traffic data recorders (hoses/tubes) on multiple roadway segments within Claremont.”

Local agencies will be given their respective data once Caltrans completes its count.
