To celebrate its second chapter in Pasadena, Women’s Coaching Alliance, a nonprofit focusing on developing female coaches for youth sports, will host a free gathering at The Claremont Club, 1777 Monte Vista Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, August 17. The event will include testimonies from people who have gone through the organization and is in partnership with American Youth Soccer Organization, Angel City Football Club and The Claremont Club. A 1 to 4 p.m. leadership academy will be held at an TBD location. RSVP at womenscoachingalliance.org/events.
“As we celebrate our third anniversary and more than 100 young women stepping into coaching youth sports, we are thrilled to bring WCA to the Los Angeles area,” wrote Women’s Coaching Alliance founder Pam Baker in a statement. “Our model is all about hands-on experience, empowerment, and education. Young women develop lifelong leadership skills through coaching and they also gain the confidence to lead — on the field and off. Parents and communities in the Bay Area are now asking for WCA coaches and we can’t wait to make a lasting impact in Southern California next.”
