Claremont library offering mental health resources
An assortment of free and open to the public mental health programs are being offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays at Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave., thanks to a partnership with LA County Library and the LA County Department of Mental Health.
Offerings are on a first-come, first-served basis and include conversations with LA County Department of Mental Health workers, information about community resources, mental health support, healthcare services, coping strategies, self-care guidance, and referrals to housing and shelter resources.
“As a trusted resource in the community, LA County Library is uniquely positioned to offer information and support services in a stigma-free, accessible setting,” Marnae Theus, Los Angeles County Library public information specialist, wrote in an email. “This program is part of our ongoing commitment to support the holistic well-being of our neighbors.”
