Police Blotter: August 22, 2025

Tuesday, August 12
Claremont Police Department officers responded to an 8:39 a.m. burglary report from Walter’s Restaurant, 310 N. Yale Ave. Arriving officers viewed security footage, which showed two men had pried open the back door at 11 p.m. the night prior, entered the business, and removed a large floor safe containing cash. The men exited the building with the safe at 3 a.m. August 12. Both suspects are now wanted for felony burglary. They are believed to be between the ages of 30 and 40, and between 5 feet 10 inches, and 6 feet 2 inches tall. One suspect was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, black pants, dark colored beanie, a surgical mask, and dark shoes. The second was wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and surgical mask. Police did not release the amount of property or monetary loss. Potential witnesses are urged to call CPD at (909) 399-5411.
Wednesday, August 13
Claremont police responded to the 500 block of Bucknell Drive at 1:11 a.m. following a tip about a minor who had allegedly been raped. The following day, CPD officers arrested an 18-year-old Pomona man on felony charges of sexual assault of a minor, rape by force or fear, and contacting a minor to commit a felony. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and held for court. He was released August 18 and is due back at Pomona Superior Court September 30.
A Montclair man, 36, arrived at the Claremont police station at 2:15 a.m. to turn himself in for a misdemeanor CPD warrant. Officers allege the man was intoxicated, and added misdemeanor disorderly conduct to his charge list. He was arrested, booked, held for detoxification, and released with a citation.
Thursday, August 14
Police were called to the 400 block of Guilford Avenue at 9:14 p.m. on reports of a 39-year-old Claremont man trespassing. Arriving officers determined the man had a stay away order from the location and arrested him for misdemeanor violation of a court order. He was then transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and held for court. He appeared at Pomona Superior Court August 19 and was sentenced to jail at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic until January 5, 2026.
Friday, August 15
Officers responded to the 500 block of Guilford Avenue at 5:07 p.m. regarding a family disturbance. There police spoke with two people and arrested a 35-year-old Claremont woman for felony domestic violence. She was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court. She bonded out August 16 and was due in Pomona Superior Court August 19.
Saturday, August 16
Police responded to the 100 block of north Cambridge Avenue at 12:32 a.m. after calls about people inhaling gas from balloons in a parked car. Arriving officers said they found a tank of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, in the car. A Montclair man, 20, was arrested for misdemeanor possession of nitrous oxide. He was transported to CPD, booked, and later released with a citation to appear in court.
Sunday, August 17
After responding to a 1:19 p.m. report of a family disturbance on the 600 block of Montgomery Circle, police spoke with two people and arrested a Claremont woman, 28, for felony domestic violence. Police said that because children were nearby during the alleged incident, the woman was additionally charged with misdemeanor child abuse. She was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and held for court. She later posted bail and was released.
