Cross-country
The girls’ team took second at the California Interscholastic Federation State Division 2 race at Woodward Park with 161 points. The boys did not qualify.
The girls took first at the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 championships at Mt. San Antonio College on November 22, with 103 points. The boys finished eighth with 213. The girls earned their bid after placing first at the November 14-15 preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College with 37 points. The boys finished second with 71 points. Boys soccer (4-1-1)
Claremont hosted Diamond Bar Wednesday and came away with a 3-1 win. Previous results saw CHS tie San Dimas 3-3; shutout Notre Vista, 6-0; beat Chaffey, 7-4; and lose 2-1 at Don Lugo and 3-1 at Los Osos. Next up is a December 19 home contest with Walnut, followed by a trip to Bishop Amat December 22.

Girls soccer (2-2-2)
The Wolfpack won 4-2 at Diamond Bar on Wednesday. Previously, the team lost 1-0 to Alta Loma; shutout Montclair, 3-0; tied Chino Hills 1-1; lost 3-1 to Upland, and tied 2-2 with Don Lugo. Claremont is at Walnut December 19, followed by the December 20 Claremont High Holiday Classic and a December 27-30 tournament at San Bernardino Soccer Complex.
Boys basketball (7-4)
Claremont defeated Carter High, 85-66, Monday, and Western Christian, 88-48, December 3.
CHS began the December 9-13 Montclair tournament with a 52-46 loss to Alta Loma, then followed it up with wins over Jurupa Valley, 79-38, Sierra Vista, 67-52, and Wilson, 60-41.
Claremont lost to St. Bernard, 81-56, and Roosevelt, 78-43, at the November 17-22 Fullerton High tournament, then bounced back to defeat University and Victor Valley, 44-39 and 69-34, respectively, before losing to Oakwood, 62-56.
Up next for the Pack are Walnut December 19 and Notre Dame Riverside December 20, followed by a December 26-30 tournament at CHS.
Girls basketball (7-6)
The girls’ team won the San Dimas tournament, defeating Walnut, 43-33, in the December 13 final. Along the way, the team beat Diamond Ranch, 72-14, Muir, 70-35, and Calvary Baptist, 82-44.
Claremont lost to Esperanza, 49-46, Santa Margarita, 60-50, and Beckman, 49-45, in the December 1-6 Villa Park High tournament before besting Long Beach Poly, 64-52. At a November 24-29 tournament at Bishop Amat, Claremont lost to Esperanza, 57-46, and St. Anthony, 62-40, then beat Murrieta Valley, 43-33, and Roosevelt, 55-40. The team lost, 51-39, at Rancho Cucamonga November 19.
Claremont hosts Walnut December 19, then heads to La Salle for a December 20 game with Mira Costa before a December 27-30 tournament at La Canada.

Girls water polo (4-2)
Results from the Pack’s trip to Diamond Bar Wednesday were not made available to the Courier. Recent results include a convincing 18-0 victory over Wilson, and lopsided wins against Colony, 22-4, Charter Oak, 22-7, and Corona, 19-4. The team lost to Chino, 13-11, and Troy, 11-6.
Next up is a December 19-20 tournament at Chino Hills.

Cross-country
The boys’ team took eighth with 196 points at the November 14 CIF-Southern Section Division 5 preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College. The girls did not qualify. Results are at athletic.net.

The Gauls lost 3-1 to Ontario Christian on Tuesday. Previously, the team recorded wins over Woodcrest Christian, 2-1, Education First Academy, 7-3, and California Lutheran, 11-0, and lost to Flintridge Prep, 10-1, Pomona, 5-0, Ganesha, 4-2, and Duarte, 5-1. Webb were at Mark Keppel after press time Thursday.
Girls soccer (4-1-1)
Webb lost to Ontario Christian on Tuesday, 2-1. Recent results include a 10-0 shutout of Magnolia Science Academy, a 14-0 drubbing of Cristo Rey, a 3-3 tie with Samueli Academy, a 2-1 win over Tarbut V’ Torah, and a 5-1 victory over Calvary Chapel Downey. The team hosted Vista Meridian after press time Thursday.
Boys basketball (8-1)
The boys are playing well and winning by wide margins, including Tuesday’s 64-36 win against Santa Ana Valley. Recent results also saw convincing wins over Azusa, 58-29, Southwest Academy, 93-29, Education First Academy, 81-35, California Military Institute, 76-33, and Nuview Bridge, 91-27.
The Gauls beat Western Christian, 69-62, and Southlands Christian, 76-31, at the December 4-6 Webb Tournament, before falling to Sierra Vista, 52-46, for their first loss of the season.
Girls basketball (4-8)
The girls’ team beat Norton Science Academy, 46-27, on Tuesday. This followed recent losses to Westridge, 25-19, and California Military Institute, 34-12, and a 39-7 win over PAL Charter Academy.
At the December 8-13 Webb Tournament, the Gauls began with losses to Ramona Convent, 38-24, and Excelsior Charter, 37-20. The team then beat Calvary Chapel Downey, 30-11, and lost to Edgewood, 39-26.
The team fell against Calvary Baptist, 50-12, then to St. Monica Academy, 48-17, at the December 1-6 Calvary Baptist Tournament, before defeating Pomona Catholic, 29-27, and losing to Southlands Christian, 39-15.
Boys wrestling (1-1)
Results from Webb’s Wednesday home match with Ganesha and the December 13 Notre Dame Riverside tournament were not made available to the Courier. Previously, the team lost at Nogales, 42-28, and beat Pomona, 36-24.

Girls water polo (3-8)
Webb lost to Edgewood, 13-7, on Monday. Previous results include a December 12 18-8 victory over Baldwin Park and a December 9 16-6 loss to Chino. At the December 5 Saddleback tournament, Webb lost 17-4 to Los Amigos and beat Canyon Springs, 9-8, before losing to El Rancho, 14-10, and Rancho Alamitos, 18-6. This followed previous losses to Montclair, 14-3, Mayfield, 12-5, and Canyon Springs, 14-10, and a November 11 13-7 victory over Mark Keppel.
