On the Same Page community read events coming up

The Friends of the Claremont Library’s On the Same Page Committee will host a number of free events to foster community engagement with its 2025-2026 community read, “West with Giraffes” by Lynda Rutledge.

Up first is a 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17 community discussion at Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 Harvard Ave. At 10 a.m. Saturday, February 21 Pomona College professor of politics Susan McWilliams Barndt will give a lecture on road trips at the library. And, author Georgeanne Irvine, director of publishing for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, gives a 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21 talk at Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont.

Copies of “West with Giraffes” are available for check-out or purchase for $15 at the Claremont library. Inquire about lawn signs at the library information desk.
