Friday, January 2
- The first Friday of the month is pay what you can day at American Museum of Ceramic Art, 399 N. Garey Ave., Pomona, open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Info is at amoca.org/events/first-fridays.
- Veterans Memorial Park and Community Center, 1259 E. D St., Ontario, hosts a free and open to the public elote corn night from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Info is at ontarioca.gov/events.
- People 50 and up can call Ontario Senior Center at (909) 395-2021 to register for the 6 to 9 p.m. Friday night dance at 225 E. B St., Ontario. Tickets are $4.
Saturday, January 3
- The City of Upland’s farmers’ market takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Second Avenue.
- Tickets are $25 for the 10 a.m. lemon curd workshop and $85.50-$95 for Joe Oakes’s 10:30 a.m. landscape art session at Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for the Arts and Crafts, 5131 Carnelian St., Rancho Cucamonga. Register at malooffoundation.org.

Sunday, January 4

- California Botanic Garden, 1500 N. College Ave., Claremont, hosts an 8 a.m. bird walk, free with garden admission. RSVP at calbg.org.
- Admission is waived at Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, 200 W. First St., on the first Sunday of each month from noon to 4 p.m.
- Good Shepherd Lutheran Church continues its free and open to the public adventures in music concert series with “Art and Elegance,” a 5 p.m. concert featuring flautist Syrina Robinson and pianist Edward David Zeliff at 1700 N. Towne Ave., Claremont.
Monday, January 5
- Claremont city offices reopen today.
- Montclair walkers, a free walking group at Montclair Place, 5060 E. Montclair Ln., gathers at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a walk around the mall. New members must submit a waiver, available at montclairplace.com/events.
- Adults can create and print a three-dimensional heart photo frame at Ovitt Family Community Library’s 6 to 8 p.m. workshop at 215 E. C St., Ontario. Ticketing opens at 5:30.
