Out with the old, in with Claremont Courier
Embrace 2026 with us. Great things are ahead!
Dear Courier subscribers and readers:
As we close out another year of publishing local news in Claremont, I want to pause and simply say thank you.
Your generosity, encouragement, and belief in the mission of the Claremont Courier made 2025 a year of renewed momentum — and it gives us real optimism as we head into 2026. At a time when trusted local journalism continues to disappear across the country, this community stepped forward and made its values unmistakably clear: Claremont cares about fact-based, independent, local news built on original reporting and photography.
Because of you, the Courier enters the new year on stronger footing. Nearly 500 people donated to support our work, many adding small but meaningful contributions to their annual subscriptions. Those dollars matter. They add up. Together, they tell a powerful story about a community that understands the importance of staying informed about what is happening closest to home.
Your support allows us to set new goals for 2026 — goals that push us to improve both our print and digital publishing, invest in stronger reporting, and continue producing the kind of journalism and photography Claremont has relied on for generations. We also have several exciting plans and announcements ahead, which I look forward to sharing in a future column.
If there is one word that will guide much of our focus in the coming year, it is partnerships. Partnerships with readers, advertisers, local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and businesses. Partnerships that strengthen our reporting, broaden our reach, and deepen our connection to the community we serve. None of that happens without you.
On behalf of the entire Courier staff, thank you for standing with us and for caring about the role local journalism plays in a healthy, informed community. We are truly grateful for your trust and generosity.
Onward to 2026.
Peter Weinberger
