Georgeanne Irvine to speak at Hughes Center March 21

Children’s book author and director of publishing for San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Georgeanne Irvine will discuss giraffes and her advocacy for wildlife and animal conservation at “Inspiring a Passion for Nature through Books,” a free and open to the public 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21 lecture at Alexandrer Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Claremont Library’s On the Same Page Committee and relates to the group’s 2025-26 community read, “West With Giraffes,” by Lynda Rutledge.
