‘Bridge Fire’ continues to burn through Sunday evening

A fast moving fire near west Glendora Mountain Road in the San Gabriel Canyon, seen from Grand Avenue in Claremont, continued to burn into the night as firefighters attempted to get control of the growing 200-acre blaze. This fire, along with the much larger 17,000-acre Line Fire in the Big Bear Lake area, caused unhealthful air throughout the Inland Empire. Both blazes are yet to be controlled, with a state of emergency declared in San Bernardino County. More updates as news develops. Courier photo/Peter Weinberger

With temperatures over 100 degrees, and a mix of unhealthy air due to a blaze near Glendora Mountain Road west of Mt. Blady Village, helped mute the sun during sunset on Sunday. High temperatures Monday will be over 100 degrees before a big cooldown later in the week. Courier photo/Peter Weinberger
