Claremont Little League all-stars: some stay alive, others go home

Here’s a recap of recent Claremont Little League All Star team play. Bracket information for each division is atclaremontlittleleague.org.
CLL 8Us (1-2)
After a 10-3 loss to Glendora American on June 24, Claremont bounced back June 29 to defeat San Dimas. Glendora American then brought Claremont’s season to an end July 1, beating them 6-4.
CLL 9Us (2-2)
The under nines defeated San Dimas via the mercy rule on July 1, 11-0, earning the right to play in the boys 9U California Little League District 20 title game Wednesday against Glendora American. That game resulted in a 13-12 loss, ending CLL 9U’s season.
CLL 10Us (4-2)
On June 29, Claremont trounced Glendora American by the mercy rule, 16-5, to force a June 30 game with the same team to decide who would be crowned boys 10U California Little League District 20 champs. Glendora bounced back though, winning 10-6 to send Claremont home for the summer.
CLL 11Us (3-0)
Claremont blasted San Dimas, 13-1, Wednesday for the 11U California Little League District 20 title at Marchant Park in San Dimas. The boys begin Section 3 tournament play Saturday, July 15 at Goddard Middle School, 859 Sierra Madre Ave., Glendora. Brackets are at cadistrict19.org.
CLL 12Us (2-1)
La Verne shut out Claremont 9-0 July 1, setting up a showdown with Glendora American Wednesday for the right to play for the 12U California Little League District 20 title. Claremont came away 10-3 victors, forcing a title game rematch with La Verne at 6 p.m. Friday at Pelota Park, 1505 Holly Oak St., La Verne.
CLL Juniors (2-1)
The juniors defeated La Verne in a best-of-three series to be crowned Junior California Little League District 20 champions. Claremont will compete in the Section 3 tournament at Griffith Park, 1800 Woodbend Ave., Claremont, starting Saturday, July 8. Brackets are at cadistrict19.org.
