Birders invited to Wilderness Park

Pomona Valley Audubon Society invites the public to a free field trip to Claremont Hills Wilderness Park to search for black swifts, a small, sickle-shaped winged bird, with leader Tom Miko on Sunday, June 25. Birders should meet at the gate near 4031 N. Mills Avenue at 5 p.m.

Attendees should bring appropriate footwear, water, and insect repellent for this strenuous, nearly one-mile hike. Nearby lot parking is $7 for those without a 2023 CHWP permit.

Email tgmiko@gmail.com or visit pomonavalleyaudubon.org to RSVP or for more details. Pomona Valley Audubon Society meetings and field trips will resume in September.
