Cal Poly Pomona’s Pumpkin Fest opens Saturday

Nearly 40,000 people will descend on Cal Poly Pomona’s giant pumpkin field over the next few weeks, beginning this Saturday, September 30 when the 30th annual Pumpkin Festival kicks off.

The field at the university’s AGRIscapes Center will transform into a sea of orange with more than 35,000 Cal Poly Pomona-grown pumpkins. The Pumpkin Festival has become a Pomona Valley tradition, complete with corn mazes, a petting farm, hayrides, live music, food, the Moo Moo train pulled by an antique tractor, agricultural demonstrations, and more.

The fest is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through October 29

The AGRIscapes Center is at 4102 S. University Drive, Pomona 91768 (Near Temple Avenue and the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store).

Admission is $4 to $10. Visitors are advised to buy their tickets online at cpp.edu/pumpkinfestival for the best prices and for more info 

La Verne’s Trunk or Treat is October 14

The City of La Verne’s third annual Trunk or Treat event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 14 at 3660 D St. The event includes candy from decorated vehicles and booths, food and crafts, music, and other Halloween activities.
