Cannabis company donates nearly $230K to Pomona

STIIIZY, a Los Angeles-based cannabis brand with a store in Pomona, recently presented the city with a check for $229,515 as part of an agreement to contribute 1% of its annual gross receipts to Pomona’s Community Benefit Fund. According to the company, over the last three years STIIIZY has donated $730,000 to Pomona to improve parks and schools and paid more than $4.5 million in cannabis taxes. On July 26 Tak Sato, president of STIIIZY, a Los Angeles-based cannabis brand, presented Pomona Mayor Tim Sandoval with a check for $229,515 outside STIIIZY Pomona, 1605 W. Holt Ave. Funds will benefit local schools and parks within a half-mile radius of the store’s Pomona location.

The check was presented as part of an agreement with Pomona’s four legal cannabis operations to contribute 1% percent of gross annual receipts to the city’s community benefit fund, according to Pomona Public Information Officer Mark Gluba.

Since opening in Pomona in 2020, STIIIZY has donated some $730,000 to the city with the purpose of improving local parks and schools in Pomona, according to a news release, and paid $4.5 million in cannabis taxes. Visit stiiizy.com/pages/pomona-dispensary for more store information.
