Guests assembled at Granite Creek Gardens in Claremont on Saturday, May 11 for the Children’s Foundation of America’s 2024 ChariTea Fundraiser presented by Claremont Lincoln University. This year about $20,000 of support was raised through the event.

This year’s theme was “Wonderland” with towering paper flowers, giant mushroom props, and red-painted roses adorning the venue. The 136 attendees enjoyed a tea luncheon including finger sandwiches in the shape of playing cards, a green Mock Turtle soup accompanied by Bread-and-Butterfly, the Queen of Heart’s tart mushroom puff pastry, and, of course, a selection of teas.

There were activities to enjoy like croquet, giant Janga, oversized chess, and a typewriter poet.

Each year, the Children’s Foundation of America spreads PositiviTea through its annual grant awards. This year’s recipients were Shoes That Fit and KidCare International. The grants will help to further the work of these child-serving organizations, locally.
