The Youth Activity Center, at 1717 N. Indian Hill Blvd., was a multicultural hub Wednesday afternoon as dozens of students from Claremont High made arts and crafts projects and games based on Swiss, Indian, Japanese, German, Chinese, and Korean traditions. The event was part of “art around the world,” a middle years program project facilitated by CHS sophomore Rion Kanatsu. “I decided expressing culture through arts and crafts would be a good way to approach cultural appreciation,” the 15-year-old said. The program was part of Claremont’s Teen Committee’s Wellness Week. Courier photos/Andrew Alonzo
