City’s national anthem contest underway

Young people in grades four through 12 who live or attend school in Claremont are invited to participate in the city’s upcoming national anthem contest. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Alexander Hughes Community Center’s Grove Room, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont. Visit claremontca.gov/4th-of-July to submit an entry by Thursday, April 9. The winner will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the city’s Fourth of July fireworks show and honoree recognition and be in the parade.
