Claremont Fastpitch All-Star recap

Claremont Fast Pitch Softball recently wrapped up its All-Star season for its 8-, 10-, 12-, and 14-year old teams.
8-year-olds (1-2)
The 8-and-unders began postseason play at the Eastern C District Tournament in Beaumont June 13 with a 5-1 win over Colton. The team then faced Eastvale and Yucaipa on June 14, losing big, 19-1 and 16-0, respectively, to end their season.
10-year-olds (5-2)
The 10s opened their postseason by winning four games in Mira Loma against Chino, 11-3, San Juan Capistrano, 12-3, Chino again, 10-0, and Ontario, 12-6.
At the Eastern C District Tournament in Beaumont the team shutout Beaumont, 11-0, on June 13, then lost to Murrieta Valley, 9-4, and French Valley, 13-5, on June 14, sending them home for summer.

12-year-olds (4-11)
The 12s were comprised of players from Claremont Fast Pitch and San Dimas Youth Softball Association.
The team began play at the War at the Shore Tournament in Redondo Beach in May, losing to Walnut, 15-0, before bouncing back to beat Long Beach Gold, 3-1, later that day. The team then lost decisively to Northridge Gold, 16-1, ending its War at the Shore bid.
At the Pride of the Foothills Tournament in Glendora Claremont/San Dimas defeated Santa Monica, 2-1, on May 30, before losing 3-0 to Rialto on May 31, followed another loss to North Torrance, 7-5, on June 1.
At the Battle of the Diamonds tournament in San Dimas the team lost three straight to La Mirada, 7-0, on June 6, Los Alamitos, 4-3, June 7, and Walnut, 9-4, on June 8.
The team began the Northern B District tournament in Glendora on June 21 with a 14-2 loss to Sierra Madre Gold, then won back-to-back games against Whittier, 7-5, and West Covina, 7-6. Glendora Gold shut them down in the June 22 final, 12-0.
At the July 4 state B-level championship tournament in Irvine the team lost 13-0 to Oxnard, followed by a 7-1 loss to Westlake Agoura on July 5, ending their postseason.
14-year-olds (10-9)
The 14s opened their postseason with a 6-1 win against Ontario on May 17 at the Ontario/Jurupa Valley tournament before losing to Jurupa Valley, 12-2, later that day. On May 18, Claremont beat Ontario again, 13-3, but lost its rematch with Jurupa Valley, 7-3.
At the Upland All-Star Summer Jam, Claremont lost three straight, first to hosts Upland, 10-3, on May 30, then to La Mirada, 8-5, on May 31, and again to Upland, 18-7, on June 1.
Claremont won the Battle of the Diamonds tournament in Diamond Bar, winning four straight, including 5-4 over Ontario June 6, 12-0 over La Mirada June 7, and 4-2 against La Mirada and 13-12 over Ontario on June 8.
Claremont began the Eastern District C Tournament in Beaumont with a 17-7 victory over Rialto on June 13 before losing to Upland, 11-5, and beating Colton, 16-10, setting up a June 15 game with Corona, which it lost, 11-2.
Claremont went 2-2 at the state tournament, beating North Park, 10-9, on July 4, followed by a 16-0 loss to Peninsula and a 6-5 win over Monterey Park on July 5, before being sent home by Huntington Beach after losing 13-1.
