Claremont Little League all-stars advance to sectionals

CLL 11Us (3-0)

The undefeated Claremont team secured the 11U California Little League District 20 title last week, earning a trip to the Section 3 tournament, which begins Saturday, July 15 at Goddard Middle School, 859 Sierra Madre Ave., Glendora. Brackets are at cadistrict19.org.

 

CLL 12Us (2-2)

The under twelves were sent home by La Verne after losing 6-1 in the July 7 12U California Little League District 20 title game at Pelota Park.

CLL Juniors (4-3)

The juniors defeated La Verne in a best-of-three series to be crowned Junior California Little League District 20 champions, earning a trip to the Section 3 tournament.

There Claremont took game one against Baldwin Park National, 10-7, on July 8 before losing a close one to South Pasadena, 10-9, July 9. On Monday the juniors walloped Baldwin Park National, 14-3, setting up a title game showdown Tuesday with South Pasadena, which they lost, 6-4, sending them home for the summer. South Pasadena now moves on to the Division/State District 63 tournament. Updated brackets are at cadistrict19.org.
