Claremont Police Sergeant Tamayo retires
Claremont Police Sergeant Hector Tamayo will be retiring from the department after 17 years of service.
Sergeant Tamayo was a Ventura County Sheriff deputy for five years before joining CPD as a police officer in 2004. After six years with CPD, he was promoted to corporal, spending several of those years as a detective. In 2016, he was promoted to sergeant and assigned as a field supervisor.
“Hector was known for his calm, caring, and professional demeanor, illustrated by the nearly 50 letters of commendation in his personnel file,” police official said in a news release.
Recently, Sergeant Tamayo started a business selling e-bicycles which he intends to continue following his retirement.
