The Claremont City Council unanimously approved a $20,929 bonus for City Manager Adam Pirrie and an amendment to his employment contract that will boost the city’s contribution to his health insurance premium at its February 25 meeting.

Pirrie will now “receive the same monthly contribution for health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision insurance [$1,500] as Department Head employees who are part of the [Claremont Management Association],” according to a staff report. The city had previously contributed $1,294 per month for Pirrie’s.
The bonus is the second Pirrie has received in less than a year. In April 2024, the council awarded Pirrie a $15,218 bonusand extended his employment contract through February 23, 2028.
The February 25 vote came a month after the council gave Pirrie high marks in his annual performance review.
“The City Council unanimously agreed that Mr. Pirrie is doing an excellent job as City Manager in managing projects, maintaining a strong financial situation, and serving as a leader both within the City organization and in the community,” according to a staff report.
Pirrie has served as Claremont’s city manager since February 2021.
