On March 13 the Claremont Police Department released a new public online database, a citizen records information management system portal called “Citizen RIMS” at claremontpd.citizenrims.com/map.

Overseen by CPD, the interactive map shows current crime information and archival info as far back as January 1, 2016. The information is sourced from CPD’s computer dispatch/records management system that was implemented last May.

On Citizen RIMS, an interactive map shows up-to-date public safety, crime and police activity. Users can apply filters to show certain areas, certain incidents, track monthly crime trends, view CPD media bulletins and advisories, and view arrest information over the previous 30 days. Residents and business owners also have an option to register their security cameras to assist in CPD investigations.

The site does not include information about juvenile offenders or calls for service for incidents of domestic violence.

“Additionally, while we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date data, the information on this website may not always reflect the full details of incidents, crimes, or individuals due to pending filings or updates within the court system,” read a statement from CPD.

Citizen RIMS was financed through a grant from the California Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund.
