Eccles named Mudd’s new VP for advancement

Jennifer Eccles is Harvey Mudd College’s new vice president for advancement.

“I am honored to join Harvey Mudd College and partner with President [Harriet] Nembhard in advancing the College’s mission to develop future leaders in STEM,” wrote Eccles in a statement. “The College has a rich history and an extraordinary alumni community, and together we will develop the resources needed to empower our students, drive STEM innovation, and uphold the legacy of excellence that defines Harvey Mudd.”

Eccles had been vice president of development and external relations at the Giant Magellan Telescope Corporation in Pasadena since 2017, where she helped with funding initiatives, according to a news release.

“Eccles has extensive experience in campaign planning, donor cultivation, and engagement that will advance the mission of Harvey Mudd College and work to achieve the College’s ambitious goals outlined by the community in its strategic plan,” the release continued.

Eccles took office October 28. She previously served in senior advancement roles at the University of Southern California; development roles at the University of Washington, Washington State University, and USC; and began her career as a student worker at the University of Idaho Foundation. She holds a master’s degree from USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s in public communication from the University of Idaho.
