Last week, Shoes That Fit announced D’Wayne Edwards, president of Pensole Lewis College and founder of Pensole Academy, has joined its advisory board. Edwards was the first African American to receive an honorary Doctor of Design degree from ArtCenter College of Design, and founded Pensole, the first Black owned footwear factory in the United States. Edwards held senior positions at Nike and Skechers, and did shoe design work for athletes such as Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony, Derek Jeter, and Roy Jones Jr. More info is at shoesthatfit.org.
