Ellison to deliver Mudd’s 65th commencement address

Michael Ellison, co-founder and CEO of CodePath and social change advocate will deliver the keynote address at Harvey Mudd College’s 65th commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at the Harvey S. Mudd Quadrangle, on the corner of E. 10th St. and Dartmouth Ave. in Claremont.

Ellison and two friends founded CodePath, a San Francisco-based tech-centric nonprofit, in 2017. It “provides industry-vetted courses, internships and career support for students who are underrepresented in technology fields,” according to a news release. Since its founding, CodePath has partnered with more than 80 colleges to support over 18,000 students.

“Ellison’s vision for CodePath is to increase diversity in tech by changing the systems that foster inequities in the industry,” read the release.
