Friday, January 31

  • Entries for the 35th annual Making Change contest are due today. Kindergarten students through high school seniors who live in or attend school in Claremont can submit letters, essays, multimedia presentations, or artistic works — solo or in groups — for the contest at claremontca.gov/making-change.   • Pomona Chamber of Commerce’s 9 a.m.coffee connections networking hour takes place at the chamber office, 320 S. Thomas St., Pomona.

  • The 33rd Ussachevsky Memorial Festival of Electronic Music begins today with a free and open to the public 1:15 p.m. lecture with this year’s guest composer, Elainie Lillios, at Thatcher Music Building, 340 N.
