Friday, November 15

 

  • Learn about degree and free summer programs and speak with housing and financial aid advisors at Keck Graduate Institute during a free 9 to 11:30 a.m. virtual tour. RSVP by November 15 at kgi.edu/calendar.

 

  • Cellist Maggie Parkins and pianist Jennie Jung perform at this week’s Friday noon concert series at Balch Auditorium, 1030 Columbia Ave., Claremont. The free and open to the public performance begins at 12:15 p.m. and doors open at noon.

Saturday, November 16

  • Claremont cars and coffee begins at 8 a.m. at Last Name Brewing, 2120 Porterfield Way, Upland, and this month’s event doubles as a toy drive for the Children’s Foundation of America.   • A free and open to the public 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. drive-thru e-waste drive takes place at Alma Hofman Park, 5201 Benito St., Montclair, today and November 17.   • Poets are invited to speak at the Friends of the Claremont Library’s annual free 2 p.m. fourth Saturdays poetry open mic at the Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave. Sign-ups open at 1:50 and poets of all ages are allowed to read two pages or two poems.

 

  • La Verne Symphony Orchestra’s annual free and open to the public 4 p.m. winter concert will be conducted by Sylvia Lee Mann and feature works by Bach, Beach, Bizet, Dvořák, Jenkins, Rimsky-Korsakov, and others at University of La Verne’s Morgan Auditorium, 1950 Third St. A $10 donation is appreciated.

 

  • The Claremont Concert Choir and Claremont Treble Singers host “Earth and Moon, Sun and Stars,” a free and public 7:30 p.m. concert featuring music by Stacey Gibbs, Alberto Grau, Hilary Tann, Eric Whitacre, and others, at Garrison Theater, 241 E. 10th St., Claremont.
