Friday, September 6
- The City of Claremont’s electric bike survey closes today. To find it, go to form.jotform.com/claremonthumanservices/ebikes, or click on the “news” tab at ci.claremont.ca.us. The survey aims to shape future e-bike policies for the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park and Thompson Creek Trail.
- Upland Chamber of Commerce’s 7 a.m. networking breakfast at Landecena Community Building, 1325 San Bernardino Rd., Upland, is $23 for members, $28 for non-members. RSVP at web.uplandchamber.org/events.
- The free war and existentialism book club meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Joslyn Center, 660 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont, the first Friday of each month. September’s read is “The Naked and the Dead,” by Norman Mailer.

- Adults can make wire tree pendants with artist Julia Gregory at a 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. workshop at the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts, 5131 Carnelian St., Rancho Cucamonga. Open Mic at the Maloof for poets, musicians, and stand-up comics follows through 2 p.m. Art by Alchemist Studio will be on sale until 3 p.m.

- The Claremont Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Drivers will be stopped to ensure they have valid driver licenses, are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and that they and their passengers are wearing seat belts.
