Fairplex Pomona was recently named a venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics for cricket, which is returning to the games for the first time since 1900.

“To add the Olympic Games to the catalog of events here at Fairplex is a dream come true. It’s a dream for any venue,” Los Angeles County Fair Association Board Chair John Landherr wrote in a news release. “Fairplex is already home to drag racing and one of the country’s largest fairs, amongst other national and global competitions. We are thrilled to now stage cricket for the 2028 Olympics. It’s a moment of global unity through sport and a celebration of cricket’s growing legacy on the Olympic stage.”

Other regional venues for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games include the 1932 Olympic Pool at Exposition Park in Los Angeles, Anaheim’s Honda Center, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium, LA Memorial Coliseum, Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson and  BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
