Community grants
Local agencies or organizations have until Sunday, February 15 to apply for Kiwanis Club of Claremont Foundation’s community and/or youth services grants at claremontkiwanis.org. A pool of $30,000 will be divided among organizations whose projects address quality of life concerns with Claremont residents and/or improve the well-being of youth attending school in Claremont.

Stan Larson Scholarship
Named after long-time Kiwani and former Claremont Courier Editor Stan Larson, graduating seniors from Claremont High School and San Antonio High School may apply for this scholarship by Monday, February 16 at claremontkiwanis.org/scholarships. Note community or school service and academic achievements in your application.

The annual award is $750, good for renewal for up to four years, “provided the recipient stays in school, pursues a full-time accredited course of study, and provides documentation of that course of study and enrollment for each year,” according to the club’s website. Students may attend community college for two years then complete a program at an undergraduate university.

Career-technical scholarship
Graduating Claremont and San Antonio high school students who plan on pursuing a career technical degree at a community college or an accredited career-technical program can apply for the career-technical scholarship by Monday, February 16. Scholarships renew annually for up to two years, “provided the recipient stays in school, is a full-time student, pursues an accredited career-technical degree, and provides documentation of that course of study and enrollment for each year,” the club’s website stated. The annual award is $750.

All submissions will be reviewed by club’s scholarship committee and potential recipients will be interviewed.
